HISTORY & FOCUS
The Shelter Health Outreach Program (SHOP) at the University of Pennsylvania was started in 2019 by founding Co-Presidents Evelyn Gotlieb (W’21) and Megha Bharadwaj (C’21). SHOP’s mission is to empower individuals experiencing homelessness (PEH) in Philadelphia to track their own health and seek primary care. It began as the first undergraduate organization at Penn with a focus on working with Philadelphia’s homeless community, with a specific objective of tackling health disparities in this community. Today SHOP has grown both in size and in the services we provide to our shelters. Please reach out if you would like to learn more!
